About the yemen national digital archive

The Yemen National Digital Archive has a mandate to secure and build a digital archive for Yemen. These are documents (including manuscripts, files, maps, pictures, posters, films and sound recordings in analogue and digital form) that have been produced in Yemen, or on Yemen.

The Archive team assesses these documents and how worthy of archival preservation, that is, whether they have lasting value for the research and understanding of history and the present, for the protection of legitimate interests of citizens or for legislation, administration and jurisdiction

The Archive also collects written, and recorded legacies from eminent persons, documents from parties, organisations and associations of national importance as well as journalistic sources.

The Archive will continuously work to provide access to the archival material of the federal government while observing the protection of private or public interests.

The Archive will provide information about the material on several research platforms. The collections will be made available in digital form for online use via these research platforms.
